Research: As the director of the clinical trials program in pediatric psychopharmacology research at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 10 years, Dr. McDonnell was a co-investigator of 81 research studies of psychiatric disorders and medications. She continues to conduct psychiatric research studies in her private practice, South Shore Psychiatric Services in Hingham, MA.

She has 10 scientific publications in the area of psychopharmacology in children, adolescents and adults and is a sought after public speaker for conferences and education seminars across the country.
